The challenge was to create a brand/programme that would respond to the financial / employment circumstances created by Covid-19 and fast-track ten early-stage businesses from the idea stage to business growth.
We created and marketed the Expedite brand, securing widespread coverage and more applications than anticipated. The programme delivery consisted of a hybrid of virtual and in-person events, depending on Covid-19 regulations. The 10 Expedite Businesses received a total of 100 hours of 1-2-1 mentoring, £5,000 funding, 5 expert-led workshops and 2 fireside chats with proven founders. During the mentoring sessions, each business co-created a roadmap, received 10 weeks of accounting support and also built an alumni network of 100+ business relationships throughout the duration of the Expedite programme. In addition to this, each business was given 10 weeks of office space at the Foundry of co-working space free of charge thanks to the East Belfast Enterprise. The Expedite Programme was drawn to a close by an evening event called ‘Influencer Night’ which welcomed 5 successful and well connected business leaders in Northern Ireland to listen to each Expedite business story and provide expert insight and advice.
