As part of a wider entrepreneurship awareness project for Belfast City Council, Podiem proposed a partnership with the SistersIN Leadership Programme, aiming to empower young women aged between 16-18 years old to uncover their true purpose and ignite their potential to start their own business.

Elevate: The Outcome

The aim of this initiative was to celebrate female entrepreneurial leadership and empower the next generation. The audience consisted of 150 16-18-year-old female students spanning from 18 secondary schools across Northern Ireland. Attendees had the opportunity to hear from who heard from International speaker, award-winning entrepreneur & social business leader, Alice Thompson, and CEO & co-founder of Belfast-based start-up GoPlugable, Maebh Reynolds. The key message conveyed to attendees by guest speakers was the ability to uncover their true purpose and ignite their potential to follow in their footsteps and consider starting their own busienss. Feedback from the attendees highlighted that this event really resonated with the audience and has ignited a sense of inspiration and empowerment in considering self-employment or starting their own business, so much so that the event has already been scheduled again for 2024.
